| Battlerock Barrage- Your first task here is to collect the
five star pieces from the saucers. Remember to check the underside of
the saucers as well. After creating the star, use it to blast to the
next platform. Get to the topside of this one, and jump onto the
pink spring to get a boost to the next platform. When there, perform a
spin attack to screw the screw into the platform and get it moving.
Here’s how this works. You need to run all around the saucer, the
top, bottom, and even the sides sometimes to get past the electric
beams. The first part is pretty easy, so collect as many star bits as
you can. Just watch out for the flying cannon balls, electricity, and
the balls on the side. And when you get to the single beam, you can
just jump over it. When the saucer comes to a stop, leap onto another
platform and you will find the trapped Power Star. To break the cage
open, jump over to the next saucer and get a Bullet Bill to notice and
follow you as it gets shoot out of the green holes on the side of the
big platform. Lure it over to the cage, being careful not to get it
close to any other cages, and quickly run behind the star cage, causing
the Bullet to break the it.
Breaking into the Battlerock- Jump onto the saucer and
grab a bomb-omb. Quickly throw it at the caged Launch Star, and then
use it to take you farther. You’ll land on some multi-colored tennis
balls, and right next to a caged Luna Star. Head over to the green bal,
take a bomb-omb and place it next to the cage to free him. As thanks,
he will transform into a sling star and take you further. After
landing, use the pull stars to get through this mine field. Remember to
take your time and only go to the next pull star when Mario stops
otherwise he will fly into a mine. There is a 1-up mushroom in the
corner if needed too. When you get to the launch star, target the pull
star across to get him to it.
Take the warp pipe to the left to get inside the tube. If you are
trying to get to the red switch, you will have to perform a back flip
and spin while in the air to get to it.. It will release a few star
bits when pounded. Once inside, grab a bomb-omb by spinning into it,
and then throw it onto the platform near the cage. Once bombed, jump
into the hole to find a cannon. You need to shoot yourself at the ice
bouncing around the tube. Repeat this whole process a second time with
smaller ice to free the trapped Luna Star. It will transform into a
warp star, and immediately spin to use it. After landing on the final
planet, grab another bomb-omb and quickly jump of the electric beams to
the nose of the rocket, and drop it by another cage cannon. Hop into
the cannon and launch to the Power Star.
Topmaniac and the Topman Tribe- Ignore the moles and keep
jumping across the saucers until you reach the pull star, and follow
the trail to the next saucer. Take the sling star to the next saucer,
and ride the third slow moving saucer through mines. Now take the
Launch Star to the next platform. Right away, knock the enemy into the
electric barrier with a spin attack. Not only will this kill him, it
will also free the Luma. After landing on the wooden platform, break
the box in the corner to find a warp pipe. It’s time to meet gravity
yet again. Start off by flipping the arrow with a spin attack. Continue
past the flames until you reach the giant rotating wheel. You can wait
for it to become level and just run across, but you can also hit the
box to make some star bits appear, and then back flip onto the top of
the wheel and get across that way. Once at the end, flip the next arrow
to get back on the ceiling.
Make sure to only cross these moving platforms when they are fully
receded, or else you will be pushed back to the floor and have to
repeat more of the level. When you get to the huge one, use the alcoves
to stay safe. After being pulled onto higher ceiling, once again wait
until the red and white striped platforms are fully receded because
these ones will kill you. Once at the end, jump onto the spring and
enter the pipe on at the bottom. Jump over the energy waves and also
onto the enemy to find the sling star. Once again, knock the enemies
into the barrier to take it down, and then launch to the boss’s planet.
Leap over the electric barriers to the topside and you will meet a Luma
who wants to sell you items. A 1-Up or Power mushroom for thirty star
bits each. Now climb the staircase and jump into the pit to meet the
boss.
Boss: Topside- Unlike the previous smaller enemies, this
guy actually has spikes on his sides. To take them away, jump on the
top of his head. Now spin him into the barrier to hurt him. Repeat this
two more times to defeat him. Be aware though on the third round, he
will summon two more enemies to try and stop you.
Top Maniac’s Daredevil Run- This is basically the same
setting as the stage before. The only difference is that you cannot
take any damage. If you are having trouble, you can simply ignore the
minions, and just go for the main guy.
Purple Coins on the Battlerock- For this stage, you will
need to collect 100 purple coins to get the star. I will advise you
right now: there are only 100 coins in this level, so you have to get
each and every one that appears. The first 28 coins are all on the top
side, for the next 14 just follow the trail. Head underneath for the
next 18 coins, and don’t bother getting the Power-Up either. Return to
the top to get the next 6, and the next 7 are tricky. Line yourself up
with the first two, and after collecting the second coin, perform a
back flip, grab the two in the air, and the two also in the air on the
other side. The next 16 are simple, just jump over the electric line.
Do the same as before with the last ten, just align yourself with the
coin, perform a back flip, and grab the ones in the air.
Battlerock’s Garbage Dump- After clicking on the same
star as for Breaking into the Battlerock, use a bomb-omb to break the
launch star cage, and then take it to the multi-colored tennis balls.
Instead of freeing the Luna Star, go to the yellow tennis ball and
shoot off with that star. It will take you to a garbage covered area.
The robot will ask you to clear all of the garbage off using bombs
within thirty seconds. This may sound hard, but there is a trick. Try
to throw the bombs onto or at least near the five golden spots on the
ground. This will help you complete it well within the time limit.
Luigi Under the Saucer- So somehow Luigi got trapped in a
cage. Proceed as you have done before in stage 1 to the last saucers,
and get another Bullet Bill’s attention. Take him under the second to
last saucer and hide once again behind the cage, and the Bullet will
break it and free Luigi.
