History:
Link
is the the protagonist to the incredibly popular video game series "The
Legend of Zelda" developed by Nintendo. Link usually must rescue the
Princess Zelda from the evil Ganondorf who is usually trying to use
the three pieces of the Triforce to take over the world. Link is the
holder of the Triforce of Courage. In "Ocarina of Time", Link was given
the title Hero of Time because he could use the master sword to
teleport between two different times in history. The master sword
continues to show up in Link's games and is usually required to defeat
Ganondorf or any other ultimate evil. One of the most interesting
points of "The Legend of Zelda" is its time-line. Nobody is really sure
where each game takes place in comparison to another. Many people have
taken the time to put together theories as to what they believe is the
true "Legend of Zelda Time-Line". Nobody knows which of these supposed
time-lines is true. Link's adventures usually take place in the kingdom
of Hyrule, which is the kingdom ruled by the Princess Zelda.
Description:
Link is usually a hyulian, citizen of Hyrule
Kingdom, but in some games may be members of other kingdoms, such as in
"Wind Waker" and its sequel "Phantom Hourglass". Link wears a green
tunic with an easily recognizable pointy hat. He has one blue earring
in his left ear and blond hair. He also wears similar outfits of
different colors in many of the games. He usually has a sword on his
back and is often left handed, although that was changed for "Twilight
Princess" as it would be weird using the Wii Remote when he was left
handed. In his right hand link holds a large shield with the Hyulian
crest on it, which varies between games. Link can appear in both an
adult and a young form, such as in "Ocarina of Time". Since Link has
many "reincarnations" through the many games, there is no specific
description of him. Most of the more notable features will always
remain the same, though, such as the sword, shield, and instantly
recognizable green tunic.
